What is ChatGNB?

ChatGNB is a secure generative AI platform built for Government of New Brunswick (GNB) employees. It helps you get work done faster by using artificial intelligence to draft content, translate text, answer questions, and streamline routine tasks, all within a private, government-managed environment.

A tool built by GNB, for GNB​

ChatGNB was developed by the GNB Digital Transformation team. It is part of a broader strategy to modernize how public servants access information, deliver services, and collaborate across teams.

Unlike public AI tools, ChatGNB is:

  • Private and secure: Data is encrypted, stored in Canada, and not used to train AI models
  • Tailored for internal use: With writing and translation Modes designed for common GNB workflows

ChatGNB is continuously evolving, shaped by feedback from employees across government.

How it works​

ChatGNB uses a chat interface where you enter questions or tasks called “prompts” and receive AI-generated responses in real time. You can ask it to:

  • Write a briefing note
  • Translate a paragraph into French
  • Explain a policy concept in plain language
  • Help you summarize a meeting or report
  • Suggest a structure for a presentation

Think of it as a workplace assistant that can help you get started, speed up review, or unblock your thinking.

A product in active development​

ChatGNB is continuously being tested and improved. Your feedback helps shape how the tool evolves, including new features, improvements to existing Modes, and support resources.
